Independent Party Candidate for the 2012 Election

I believe that an independent party president is just what the American government needs right now. An independent party candidate running for president is less likely to happen. However, this is what our country needs. There needs to be a mutual balance between the two main political parties, the republicans and the democrats. An independent party member would break the over-balanced government there is today, you could say they would act as the tie breaker. A president that would benefit the USA is someone who has their own thoughts and opinions rather than being tied down to one single party. With a combination of beliefs from either party more citizens would be pleased. Also an independent party candidate would act as a peace maker making it possible to come up with a plan to fight off the debt America has, a task that the republican and democrat parties couldn’t seem to handle. This is making the people of America question the trust they put into the Republican and Democrat parties, which is making more people lean towards a new candidate, possibly an independent party. However this is less likely to happen because of the election process. The only spots that are able to be filled on a ballot are classified under either republican or democrat, leaving out independent parties all together.

I have never thought of independent parties that way!! It makes a lot of sense to elect an independent party this time. We need change!

We need a really wealthy president so that he can't be bribed easily. I learned that from McNally.

The problem with an independent president is the fact that we really dont know what they think or what they will do. All candidates make promises they break, but at least we know where they stand on major issues do to their party. An independent president would be unpredictable and potentially disastrous. I agree we need to get away from the big two parties, but what about a smaller party with foundations such as the constitutionalists?

I've always liked the Independent party because I've felt it met the Republicans and Democrats in the middle for the issues.

You should be very careful about electing a recordless indpendent just because you're upset with the two, balanced, reputable, and established parties. You'll never know what you elected into power until it's too late. Furthermore, how will the independent pass legislation without any party support? Eventually, one party will supersede the other in terms of the Congressional seat game. Whoever blinks first and attracts the ire of the voting public will lose their place. Eventually, there shall be only one party, the incumbent party, until the preceding action happens again. If you had a choice of vanilla, vanilla, or the lableless can, which would you choose?

I think electing an independent party candidate would be great, the two parties we have never agree on anything and it would be a great balance. Sadly, I don't think it is very likely to happen though.
