"There is Nothing Gray About the Truth"

The fallowing quote really struck out to me and made me think of politics believe it or not:

“There’s nothing gray about the truth, it’s simply wrong or right; for shadows disappear from view when we stand in the light,”-Charles Ghigna

This I found very true. Right now there seems to be a discrepancy between the government and the people. There seems to be a gray truth in a sense, there are so many people questioning the governments honesty and if they are expressing the full truth to the people. This questioning began in the 90s and has continued ever since. What America needs is the black and white truth between the people and the government. When we develop this concept that is when America will “stand in the light.” We need to bring back the eras in which Franklin D. Roosevelt and John F. Kennedy were president. To me these appear to be two of the best presidential terms in history. I believe this because in both of their presidencies there we hard times and the economy wasn’t the best however they kept the truth known to the people and the people trusted the government. Modern society needs to gain back the trust of the government and when that is done successfully, that is when we will be in the light.

Independent Party Candidate for the 2012 Election

I believe that an independent party president is just what the American government needs right now. An independent party candidate running for president is less likely to happen. However, this is what our country needs. There needs to be a mutual balance between the two main political parties, the republicans and the democrats. An independent party member would break the over-balanced government there is today, you could say they would act as the tie breaker. A president that would benefit the USA is someone who has their own thoughts and opinions rather than being tied down to one single party. With a combination of beliefs from either party more citizens would be pleased. Also an independent party candidate would act as a peace maker making it possible to come up with a plan to fight off the debt America has, a task that the republican and democrat parties couldn’t seem to handle. This is making the people of America question the trust they put into the Republican and Democrat parties, which is making more people lean towards a new candidate, possibly an independent party. However this is less likely to happen because of the election process. The only spots that are able to be filled on a ballot are classified under either republican or democrat, leaving out independent parties all together.

Politics Blog

My topic for this blog will be politics. I chose this topic because I am very knowledgeable in politics, because I watch the daily news, in the morning and at night, and read numerous articles dealing with politics in general, as a part of my daily routine. I believe I am qualified to blog about politics because I have always taken an interest in politics from a very young age and have gained a lot of knowledge throughout the years. I also expanded on my knowledge by completing the senior government class last semester. In this blog I will be writing from a critical, problem-solving point of view, by reviewing the government’s actions and policies, as well as raising some questions on how government could change to better American citizens. I will be writing in a first person point of view as well as being very opinionated in my writing. There is always a topic dealing with politics, therefor I will not run out of topics to blog about.
